I'm still alive

Wow. What a slacker I am. I guess I'll write on this thing since it is the new year and all. I guess a lot has happened, I'm just lazy! Since I last wrote, I broke up with Zac, then he wanted to try again, and the day before I left for Dallas for Christmas, it was over again. Basically, he and I are WAY too different. Differences are good, but just not this time. But it's ok. We've texted since and at least we don't hate each other or anything.

I've gone to New Orleans, Cleveland and Dallas since my last post - all very fun. I have GOT to get back to New Orleans when I'm not there for a conference and I have time to really explore more than the French Quarter. But it was great, you could tell it had soul there, like a soul that was just starting to stand up and brush itself off. I loved it - except for the humidity, my personal enemy...

Cleveland was a blast because all my wonderful close friends from high school (and before) got together there and we hung out almost like old times. It was great, but it made me miss them even more than I did before! Hopefully we can make this a habit and see each other a little more often.

Dallas was fun too - spent Christmas with the family. We all got to play with Nathan who was much more fun this time. Although, "play" means watch him play on his train table and play with his cars, read him books, and watch Thomas or Bob the Builder, or some educational dvd. I had these songs stuck in my head for days after I got back! I don't know how you moms do it without going crazy! I suppose you get used to it.

I can't believe I haven't gone snowboarding yet this year. But with traveling and with the bad conditions driving up there and now the avalanche danger is super high... I'm less worried about an avalanche on the slopes, but they do occasionally take out parts of I-70. But I MIGHT go tomorrow and stay til Monday. But I'm watching a friend's dog starting tomorrow and that might be too hard going up there with 3 dogs. We'll see.

Well, tonight I am going to the Bliss Cafe for my birthday dinner. It's a place I've never been but it looks really cool. I'm making my friends come here to Arvada this time. It'll be nice to be close to home at the end of the night!

I think that's about it for now. Hope everyone is enjoying the new year!!
