My weekend

This weekend was a pretty good one. I cleaned my house like a maniac (which will sadly be dirty again in 2 days) and ran a bunch of errands. Got a new cell phone since my other cheap one was weird (and the antennae was chewed up). It's a camera phone, but I'm not sure exactly how much I'll really use that feature. But it's fun to make my display background pictures of my animals. Pacey was the only one still enough to get a good picture, so he's the first one.

I had a date last night! A first date that went really really well. It's been a while since I've been excited about a guy - which means we'll go out a few times and then he'll tell me "he's not good at commitment" or "he doesn't have time for a relationship" but I'll enjoy myself for the time being and hopefully that won't happen this time. His name is Rob, he's 28 years old, a mechanic for Audi, and is incredibly nice, funny, cute, and considerate. Unfortunately, he's severely allergic to cats so he won't be hanging out at my house too much, but we'll figure that out.

We went to dinner at this little Mexican place which was fabulous, and then went to a bar that was having 5 bands play for a cancer benefit. The first two bands were a little too country for my taste, but the third was a funk/jazzy type band that was good. We left after that. But all in all, it was great, and we may hang out later today too!

I also had my kayak lesson this morning. It was really cold, so he dressed me up in some of his wife's gear. I think my lack of sleep, the cold, and the fact that the wetsuit, layers and drytop gaskets were cutting off my circulation and we had to quit about 2 hours into the lesson because I was getting lightheaded and that sick feeling you feel when you want to pass out. I felt much better after being in my own loose fitting clothes, so I think it was a blood flow problem! But I did get to practice the roll and I didn't panic under water like I thought I might. I'll be excited to practice in the pool this winter where it's nice and warm and I can just wear loose layers.

So that's my fun weekend. And you'll all be proud of me, I turned down an offer to foster a pregnant cat through her pregnancy, delivery, and raising of the kittens. I think once my cats have gone to heaven, I may consider not having cats (ok, maybe just one), and just fostering every now and then. Fostering was actually pretty fun, and the kittens were a blast to watch. Messy, but cute.
